3AW and Talking Footy reporter Sam McClure is reporting that a four year deal between Melbourne and banned Essendon defender Michael Hibberd is a done deal.

Hibberd has seemed the most likely to move away from the club after building a good relationship with incoming Demons coach Simon Goodwin, from his time at the Bombers as an assistant coach.

It is a bitter blow for the Bombers with Hibberd one of the club's better defenders.

Michael Hurley's future is still up in the air with clubs such as St Kilda, Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn lurking.
