Former Melbourne forward and 1116 SEN commentator David Schwarz has not held back against his former team, saying that "it's a joke that the team has one win since 2007" at the venue.

Melbourne started the game well, kicking six of the first nine goals to lead at the first break, before the Saints put together a stellar three quarters, led by forward Tim Membrey.

“How can a side be so bad at Etihad?” proclaimed Schwarz on SEN radio.

“It is one out of 24, that is crap, that is mental now, that is ridiculous and as Melbourne supporters we shouldn’t be putting up with it, it is a joke.

“So what (it’s a fast track)?  Melbourne aren’t slow.

“I don’t know, pay to go on there (and train).

“Of course I’m frustrated.

“You watch this side play and they’re good at times but fair dinkum, how do they go from 17 points up to not kicking a goal in the second quarter.

“As Melbourne people as soon as we see Etihad close the door and look out because that is one place we cannot win at.

“It probably says where we’re at (only one win against strong opposition this season), and it’s disappointing, Melbourne people thought they’d be a lot better than they are and they clearly are not.”
