Top-end draft pick Christian "Truck" Petracca will remain at Melbourne until 2018 after signing a two-year contract extension.
The Demons re-signed Petracca before he even played a game, just as they did with Petracca's good mate Angus Brayshaw in March.
Brayshaw has since played seven games, but Petracca is spending his first season on the sidelines after rupturing his anterior crucial ligament (ACL) at training.
He is aiming to make his debut early in 2016.
The 19-year-old forward/midfielder was considered a potential number one pick in the 2014 draft, but slipped to number two after St Kilda selected key forward Paddy McCartin.
Melbourne selected Petracca with pick number two and Brayshaw with pick number three.
Locking in Petracca is another coup for the developing Demons, who re-signed small utility Christian Salem earlier this year.
