In the achingly slow days which signify the week building up to a bye, talk amongst Demon fans has largely revolved around estimating the eventual return of Jesse Hogan following a long-term back complaint.
But for Demons coach and potential future Pope Paul Roos, it seems the speculation has taken it's toll.
With club doctors unable to make a prediction, it is apparent Roos has turned to the fictional TV character House for an estimated return, after his attempts to secure Dr. Karl Kennedy's services were refused by the character's wife Susan.
House, played by English comedian Hugh Laurie, was asked by Roos to remain in character throughout his visit to the MCG, and apparently diagnosed Jesse Hogan as suffering from 'slight lupus.'
It is not the first time the Melbourne Demons have appointed a fictional character in a club role, as Hogwarth's middling student Cale Morton was famously drafted #4 in 2007 AFL Draft for his excellent Quidditch playing abilities.
